Julkaistu: 2012-10-19

If you are inclined to learn more about clinical decision support systems in general and EBMeDS in particular you may find the work of Natalja Vaabel of interest. In her master’s theses at Tallinn University of Technology she outlines the challenges and benefits of the implementation of EBMeDS in intensive care units in Estonia (PDF). In spite of some of the problems outlined in the conclusion, “physicians refer optimistically to innovations and are ready to learn the EBMeDS. First of all the EBMeDS needs to be implemented in a primary care. It allows to get the valuable experience in the system application. After that the EBMeDS could be applied in the secondary care because the workflow in ICUs demands use of the system’s output.”
